In loving memory of Glenn Kreitzer of Kitchener, age 88, who passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay Hospital on March 8, 2018. Predeceased by loving wife of 50 years Joan (nee Koenig). Loving father to Gail Kreitzer of Dawson, Yukon and Janice Verschuere of Parry Sound, ON. Father-in-law to Raymond Verschuere of Parry Sound and loving grandfather to Amanda and Ryan Verschuere. Longtime companion to Audrey Johnson of Guelph.
Glenn was an inspiration to many and proved that you can do anything you put your mind to. An Electrician by training, Glenn delved into various pursuits in his working life including selling and servicing farm equipment, snowmobiles, and boats. He co-owned and operated the Bridgeport Speedway, a stock car race track and later purchased and operated Kings Portage Park. He spent many winters at the Isles of Capri, Florida, where he actively participated in the community as a volunteer fire fighter. Glenn was passionate about his hobbies including flying planes, skin diving, underwater photography, model airplanes, steam boats and more.
He has left behind a large following of friends and family that would tell you “to know him is to love him”. A celebration of life will be held at Kings Portage Park on June 16, 2018 at 2:00pm and a small gathering for the interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Kitchener mid-July.
Donations in Glenn’s honour can be made to the Wendatt Seniors program or the Georgian Bay Hospital. Wendatt Seniors Program, Attn: Kathy Jolie, 237 Second St., PO Box 237, Midland, ON L4R 4P4.
