Peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer's at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her loving husband, Neil Alexander MacNaughtan (2014). Mother of son, Alexander Watson MacNaughtan (Dorothy Acs), daughter, Sarah Bingham Curcione (Nino), son, Andrew Neil MacNaughtan (deceased) and his partner Alex Kane Privitera. Sister to Susan Nelson (nee Watson) (Jeremy). Grandmother to Phillip Nino Curcione and Samantha Olivia Bingham Curcione (fiancé Christopher Goddard). Barbara was born in Toronto in 1930. She attended Havergal College and later went on to graduate from the Ontario College of Art (OCA) where she met Neil and then married in 1955. Barbara was a very social member on various committees such as the IODE and the St. Clements Church group. Her greatest passion was to play Tennis. She was a lifelong member of the Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto. She was a talented Interior Designer (ARIDO member) and loved her work. Most of all she loved to spend her summers at the family cottage on Georgian Bay with family and friends soaking up the sun. The funeral service and reception will be held at St. Clement's Church, 70 St. Clements Ave. (at Duplex Ave.) for a Celebration of Barbara's Life 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
