Beverley Woods-Percival M.S.M.
Slipped away in her 73rd year on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Georgian Bay General Hospital after a respectful but unforgiving battle with the demon cancer. Bev’s passing leaves a giant void in the lives of family and friends. Survived by her husband Bill Percival, brothers Bob (Clover) and Paul (Kelly) Woods of Guelph, niece Bree and cherished nephews Josh and Sheldon Woods. Inherent mother to Sandra (Brad) Quinn, Stephen Percival and his partner Nida. Grandma Bev to Meghan Quinn and Cole Percival. Sister-in-law to Bob (Marg) Percival, Helen (John) Beynon, and sister-like childhood friend Pauline (Peter) Lerner. Also missed by a long list of cousins and their partners. Auntie Bev to the children of close friends. Special thanks to Dr. Will Stewart, the G.B.G.H. staff, particularly those in the units of 1North and 2North, Dr. Andre Nel and his wife Antoinette, Dr. Isabel Li and assistant Margaret of Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, staff of R.V. H., those all important friends and neighbours for their special care and sustenance. Special thank you to Jacquie Black for the preservation of a life time memory. Bev was recently awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the Governor General of Canada for her work as one of the founding members of the Dr. Tom Pashby Sports Injury Prevention Fund along with two co-recipients for educations and awareness (concussion) in sports. Supported by the Fund and Hockey Canada the group produced education seminars and travelled to major centres across the country informing players, trainers and medical staff. Bev was a caring person always looking for ways of helping fellow beings. She was a supporting member and “calendar girl” of the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre and former board member of Hospice Huronia. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Perkinsfield on Wednesday, April 17th at 1 p.m. An afternoon of fellowship and sharing of memories is planned for a later date. Bev, you will be missed and may you never walk alone. Consideration if wished to the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre, Penetanguishene. Messages of condolence will be received by leclaircremationcentre.ca
