Myrtle Louise (Hudson) MacLeod passed away Saturday March 9 at Georgian Bay Regional Hospital in Midland, ON after a series of short illnesses. She was 88.
She is survived by her children David, Donna (Bruce), Eric, Robert (Lesley) and Dale (Peter), her grandchildren Candace, Cindy, Brian, Kevin, Amy and Christopher, and her great-grandchildren Destiny, Jordan, Samantha and Dakota. She was pre-deceased by her husband Donald and her grandson Wade.
Myrtle was born in Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia in 1930. She spent the first part of her life there, including the early years of her marriage, before she and Donald moved their young family to Toronto in the 1960s and settled there.
For the past 25 years, she lived independently at the Wilmar Court Retirement Community, making many friends and enjoying the company of her fellow residents.
Family was always very important to Myrtle, and she was a very active grandmother, participating in the lives of and enjoying her time spent time with all of her grandchildren and great-grand children.
Myrtle was blessed to have enjoyed remarkably good health up until the last six weeks of her life, and she was very happy to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren in her last days. A Celebration of her life will be held at Wilmar Court, 967 Pharmacy Ave. Toronto on Saturday March 23, from 1pm to 3pm.
