The family of Catherine “Kitty” Hutchinson is saddened to announce her passing on August 26th, 2021, at the age of 73, with her family at her side. Kitty was predeceased by her parents Gerrard and Levina Catteau, as well has her sister Janet (Pringle).
She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Hutchinson (Tay), and their children: Leighanne Wilson (Chris) and Kevin Hutchinson (Laura). She was a devoted grandma to her four grandchildren: Chancellor, Barron, Cameron and Julia; and was survived her siblings: Larry Catteau (Maxine), George Catteau (Bev), Ruthanne Harris (Bill), Martha Catteau and Debra Beath (Alec).
Raised in Guelph, Kitty lived with her family in Toronto, Mississauga, Erin and finally in Wybridge Ontario. She worked as the Manager of the Hallmark Store at Sheridan Mall in Mississauga where she found lifelong friendships that she treasured. She was a devoted mom to her children and loved to spoil all of her grandchildren at every opportunity. She and her husband loved to travel across Canada and the U.S. where they spent several seasons in Florida with friends and family. Their travels took them across North America, where they had lots of adventures and made many memories. Kitty always looked forward to her special shopping trips and enjoyed simple pleasures. She amassed an amazing collection of thimbles and mementos from her journeys and was a great storyteller. Kitty loved gardening, playing and teaching her grandkids card games, and spending time with friends. She was always upbeat, was outgoing, and loved just chatting with people. Kitty would want memories of her to be fun and bring a smile to the face of anyone thinking of her. She was our “Dancing Queen”.
At her request, there will be no service, however she will be laid to rest in her special place that we know will bring her peace.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at the Hospice Huronia, Tomkins House for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Huronia, 948 Fuller Avenue, Penetanguishine ON L9M 1G7.
