It is with profound heartbreak and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Katie May Beauchamp (aka Katie May Rutherford) on October 27, 2021 at the age of 30. Katie was born on April 11th 1991 in Scarborough but raised in Midland.
She is predeceased by her grandparents, Albert Beauchamp, Frederick and Martha Rutherford and her aunt Barbara Ivory (Rutherford). Katie is survived and missed deeply by her mother, Lorraine Beauchamp (Rutherford), her father, Richard Beauchamp (Marie J. Beckley), her mamere Jane Beauchamp, her aunts and uncles, Katherine Robichaud (Don), Ron Ivory, Neil Rutherford (Anne), Karen Rutherford, David Rutherford, Elaine Rutherford, Shirley Loucks (Hap), her cousins, Emily, Jonathan, Andy, Hope, Jenna, Justus, Joshua, Cassandra, Joe, Nick, Mandy, Lindsay, Martha, Jamie and Megan.
Katie had a beautiful, loyal, compassionate heart for people and animals and always put their well-being and needs ahead of her own. She was kind, generous and caring, her spirit was bright and her smile and laugh were contagious. She was artistically creative and talented beyond measure, Katie could accomplish anything she set her mind to.
She was an innate entrepreneur presently residing in Barrie. She owned and operated a well-established and successful dog walking and pet care service, DogHike.ca. and her accredited Interfaith Officiant business. Her passion for animals was immeasurable and she spent her life caring for and rescuing many of them and providing them a life they only dreamed about. Katie will be remembered by many from her family, her many friends, from her dog business, from officiating many weddings through her Simcoe Weddings business and her many other affiliations.
If you are fully vaccinated, we welcome you to attend on Thursday, November 11th, 2021 at 2pm for a funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Parish (28 Robert St. W, Penetanguishene). Attendees are welcome to arrive to pay their respects to the family at 1:30pm. Katie will be interned at a private family gathering at the St. Anne’s Cemetery the following week.
There will be a reception to celebrate Katie’s life, following Mass from 3:30 to 6:30 at the Midland Cultural Centre, 333 King Street, Midland for the fully vaccinated and masks must be worn as per Covid protocol for large indoor gatherings.
If you wish to send flowers they can be delivered to St. Anne’s Church no earlier than Nov. 10th or if you wish to make a donation to a charity of your choice or Mental Health Organizations/Research or any OSPCA, in memory of Katie, we ask that you please have them send an acknowledgement to her mother, Lorraine Beauchamp (329 Lescaut Dr., Midland, ON L4R 4R6) or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, Richard Beauchamp at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
