It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael James Miller. He left us suddenly on October 4, 2021 at the age of 75.
Michael was born on February 12, 1946, to Wilfred and Maisie in Kitchener, Ontario. They moved to Brantford where he graduated high school and was accepted to Western Michigan University on a football scholarship. He transferred to Guelph University where he achieved an Honours B.A. in Geography.
Michael met his beloved wife Joanne in Brantford at Robbies Drive-In Pizzeria.
In 1971 they relocated to Midland Ontario where he was employed for 33 years by Midland Secondary school as a teacher.
Michael Miller was a pillar of the Community. He was actively involved on community boards and served as a mentor to his many students. He played and coached rugby, including his daughters and founded and implemented The Alpine Ski Club. He encouraged his students in their careers with his work through the Co-op program.
Michael was an active member of the local pickle ball club and participated in a provincial seniors tournament.
During his retirement Michael has greatly enjoyed his time in Melaque Mexico and his cottage on Christian Island.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Joanne of 52 years. His brother Robert “Bob” Miller, three loving daughters Abbey, Cathy and Sandy. His Son-in-laws John, Emile and Andrew. Grandchildren Owen, Emily, Colten, Everleigh and Nolan. And his many friends far and wide. We will miss you Poppy.
