DEATH NOTICE Print
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing, after a short illness, of our husband, father, grand & great-grandfather. Married for 60 years to his beloved wife Pat (Popejoy), he also leaves his daughter Shelley (Steve Sheffield), his son David (fiancé Tracy) grandchildren Evan & Avery Sheffield, Braden Clark, & great-grandchild Georgia Sheffield, & step-great-grand-daughter Halley. Also to mourn him is brother Jim, & sister Doreen Weise (the late Erich). He is also survived by 10 nephews and nieces, & brother-in law Douglas Popejoy.
After 5 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, he spent all his business life in the Marine Engine & Generator business. Always a lover of being on water, he owned a succession of boats mostly fast, until his last vessel, the 32ft. steel converted Lake Erie fish tug, on which he spent many happy days & weeks on Georgian Bay with family & friends, cruising & of course fishing! Family & friends also enjoyed the parties & music at their cottage on Little Go Home Bay for 39 years., where many happy memories were made. He was a loving, caring, wonderful father & friend, knowledgeable on many subjects, very witty, comical always, willing to help when needed. He remembered & cherished all the many friends he made in his lifetime.
In Lieu of services (due to Covid) please take some time with family or friends & raise a glass to Bob to toast a life well-lived. Memorial donations to Hospice Huronia would be appreciated. He will be remembered!

March 25, 2021 12:47 PMWe want to express our sincere condolences on the passing of Bob. We enjoyed his wisdom and stories in the short time that he worked for us. His hints on navigating the Georgian Bay proved to be very useful to us as new boaters.
