Born March 12, 1934 in Weston, Ontario to the late Judge William Frederick Woodliffe and Leda Belle (nee Thompson). Bill spent many years living in Sudbury and later moved to Midland. He was a member and past Commodore of the MBSC, member of First Presbyterian Church, member of Penetang and Midland Curling Clubs as well as the Navy League. Bill volunteered as a driver for the Cancer Society and the Red Cross for many years as well as serving on the Parent Council at Huron Park and Parkview schools. He also hosted many young people in his home from Japan, France, Canada and Africa. He had many different careers over the years but his real passion was sailing and the outdoors.
Bill loved people and would take any opportunity to talk with friends and strangers alike. His gift was story telling and he never seemed to runout of adventures from his trips across Canada, Europe and Asia. Bill lived life to the fullest and inspired others with his optimism and enthusiasm.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations to Georgian Bay General Hospital are greatly appreciated.
